#1345 Secretariat

Ask anyone to name the world's most famous horse and the answer will most likely be Secretariat. His true story is still the stuff of legends. His astonishing 31-length victory in the Belmont Stakes, accomplished after winning the first two jewels of the Triple Crown, has yet to be repeated. In the Kentucky Derby, Secretariat set a speed record of 1:59 2/5, and he captured the Preakness Stakes with ease.

Secretariat was the son of Bold Ruler out of Somethingroyal. Known as "Big Red", the large, beautifully conformed chestnut ran in the blue and white checkered colors of Meadow Stables

This guy looks so much better than Smarty Jones and the shading on him is stunning! He has some odd mark on his raised rear hoof that I haven't noticed on any other Breyer models before. You can see it in the inset picture.
